Collection “Icons of Valencian design. From 1930 to 2022”
“Icons of Valencian design. From 1930 to 2022” is a collection of 30 prints on paper; 30 plates illustrating the works that have made Valencian creativity the international design epicentre. A project that we have set up from World Design Capital Valencia 2022 in collaboration with Levante-EMV and the Arxiu Valencià del Disseny.
Every Friday from 16 April, with the daily newspaper Levante-EMV, a print can be obtained illustrating the most outstanding works of recent decades in relationship with the field of Valencian design and creativity. This careful selection follows the history of Valencian design through some of its most outstanding and iconic works or figures, that have been (and remain) a reference for different generations of designers.

With these prints, the public will follow the history of Valencian design: whether graphic or industrial, packaging or fashion, dating back from the present day to the nineteen thirties, including the first references such as Segrelles or Renau. This is a complete collection of carefully chosen images, to be kept as a personal record or framed and shown with style. A perfect occasion to remember the selection of Valencia as World Design Capital in 2022. A year full of activities aimed at presenting the past, present and future of design as a tool for transformation.
The collection begins with a poster that celebrates the selection of Valencia as World Design Capital 2022, designed by Ibán Ramón, and a binder also created by the Valencian designer. The collection presents furniture, posters, packaging, tableware, decorative elements, fashion, lighting, textiles, gastronomy as well as signage for graphic, industrial and fashion designs that changed the way Valencian design is perceived. Leading figures such as Paco Bascuñán, Dani Nebot, Mario Ruiz, Vicent Martínez, Pepe Gimeno, Marisa Gallén, Sandra Figuerola, Inma Bermúdez, Dídac Ballester, Ibán Ramón, Ramón Esteve, Jaime Hayon and Malota sign some of the collectable works.
Companies also have their place in this collection, with major, internationally known firms located in the Valencian Community such as Andreu Word, Gandía Blasco, LZF Lamps, Expormim, Vondom, Point and Punt. As well as institutional campaigns that represented a drastic change in the procurement of design, or some of the graphic campaigns that adorned the city for a period of time.
